I certainly don't think anything the american government is doing is good, but I have say, this North dude has a point. No matter the situation, the horrendous spending habits never really change that much. Now that america actually has a decent president, it doesn't even matter, because he can't get enough support to do anything.
Total collapse will definitely force a change, but it won't be pretty.

I agree, about Obama, and about the spending, but I think North is a little off.
I was thinking today about WHY we can't convert to a sensible-investment economy, including grassroots-up from employment, unemployment comp., social security, small business, etc. And one reason, as Obama must know, is that we are addicted to selling bonds. We can't get out of it. The financial elites will neither allow recovery from this addiction. So, our only "solutions" are cosmetic and tragic - print more money, borrow, and force austerity. It's a worldwide problem now.
