Sheifa rarely paid attention to her communicator as of late. However, it was impossible to miss her son's apparent flailing in the next room. Frowning, she walked over to Marcus' room and knocked, worried. "Marcus, sweetie? Is something wrong?"

"N-no, I'm fine." Khrista had just asked him out on a date. And Marcus had absolutely no idea how to handle this.

[sheifa]

"Sweetheart, you don't sound fine." Somehow, she had a gut feeling what this was all about. Mother's instinct, maybe?

"Well, I am." Whatever it was, Marcus being lousy at lying probably didn't help his side much.

[sheifa]

"You know, I'm the last person you should think of lying to," Sheifa said, opening the door and letting herself in anyway. She was smiling.
