As if things weren't already complicated enough...
[The irritable muttering trails off, then Phoenix speaks up.]
Right. if anyone has seen a pair of goggles - amber lenses, steel trim, leather straps - I'd appreciate their return. I... don't entirely remember when I took them off.
[Odette debated on whether or not to reply to this. But Phoenix has helped her so many times before. So she should at least attempt to return the favor.]
I haven't seen your goggles, but if you need anything else, just ask and I'll do what I can to help you.
[Phoenix has no idea if Odette heard that transmission, but it's probably best to assume that she did, and act as though she didn't.
That doesn't make this awkward at all.]
Thank you, Odette. I appreciate that. The only other thing that I need, though, is small and easily obtained. I wouldn't presume to ask you to help with something I can just as easily do myself.
[He's being vague on purpose, both for his own sake as well as for Ironhide's. After all, it wasn't while dancing that he'd lost his possessions, and considering Ironhide's reluctance to talk about sex...
And the fact that Phoenix himself did not wish to discuss it...
