Second poem, another one of my Aeneid-inspired poems. At this rate I'll have an entire set, but who knows? Anyway, click the cut!

Reading this poem again (when I'm not sleepy and tired)... I have to say that it really is very beautiful in how you portray it like a prayer. Also how it carries the message, not just the story, of one overcoming his own problems for something greater.
At first, I thought the rhythmn was off, but if I read it slowly, with much pausing, it makes sense. (This might seem random, but the rhythmn of the writing is what makes poetry poetry to me.
^^ Great job.

Thank you! I'm actually trying to write like Virgil (or at least I started off trying but figured out that I can't yet and so I gave up).

Rhythm is very important in all forms of poetry and one thing that creates discrepancies is how you read it, so yeah. I read my poetry slowly.
