Wait, what? Fanfic? From me? Why, yes! Two little ficlets. Almost Gen, but with a touch of shippiness. Kara/Lee, of course.
Never Bet Against A Caprican Summer
Kara sat in the rundown, overstuffed couch that provided the only seating in this apartment, looking out the window at the Caprican Summer sky. She lit a new cigar from the stub in her mouth before grinding out the old. Heavy clouds were moving in, edging the bright blue in darkness. The sure herald of a storm straight from Hades. That should have been her first warning. Those blue eyes under that dark hair. I double dog dare you. She couldn't take the words back.
She wasn't sure she'd have wanted to, even if she could.
The clouds started to roll in more quickly, as fat rain drops began to hurl themselves at the window. The door at the top of the stairs opened and closed, followed immediately by heavy feet running down the stairs.
'Hey, Babe.' He leaned over the back of the couch, his hair dripping into her lap, brown eyes laughing. 'Lee and I have a bet. I say that it'll stop raining if we join a game of pyramid on campus, he says it won't. C'mon. If I win, he cooks for us next time.'
'Oh, he's definitely cooking for us.' She pushed herself up off the couch, heart racing, and grabbed her hoodie. At the top of the stairs, she looked out the window again. The clouds were rolling out again, lighter and brighter. Kara smirked and grabbed another cigar for the walk.
Undressed
Lee laid on his back, eyes closed. He had a free hour and the bunk room to himself, so his curtains hung open. The hatch squealed open, then clanged shut.
Lee ignored it.
He heard the clunk of boots hitting the bottom of Kara's locker.
'I know you're awake, Lee.'
'No I'm not.'
'You drool in your sleep.'
'What? You're crazy, Kara.'
Kara snorted. He could see the flash of amusement in those hazel eyes. He opened one eye to look at her. She stood with her back to him, stripped down to her underwear. His breath caught at the sight.
'So you've been watching me sleep?'
'Nah. The rain in my bunk wakes me up.'
