I learned of another expat long time volunteer passing away. Lia van de Donk, was a tenacious woman who ran a house/orphanage for children with HIV and/or physical disabilities in Jakmel. I am sorry for the loss of your friend.
And you are so right: we need to honor and celebrate those whose selfless dedication and willing hearts change the lives of others far away.
