PS3 Performance in Japan

Anyone paying attention to how the current game consoles are performing should find this interesting. It's good to see an article that goes over the facts of the situation without useless fanboy rants (though some useless fanboys may have left comments, i didn't read through those).

Yes the PS3 sales here are dismel at best, and a joke in japan. However I don't think the PS3 will fail and be pulled from the market. I do think that the PS3 will have to take a back seat in the console war to the Wii and 360, like the GameCube did last gen. The PS3 won't be a faliure as a system, but probably as a product for sony, like the Xbox was for MS.

On that note we should set up a Wii games night with everyone.

Yeah, I don't think the PS3 will be a complete failure either, especially if the console gets some truly good exclusive games. I am just following things as I am curious to see what people are responding to. It's interesting to see Sony's attempt to push Blu-Ray backfire on them. I was mostly interested in seeing how the PS3 is performing in Japan, as I am sure there will be some non-Wii Japanese games that that I will want to play. I know the 360 isn't doing well over there, so it's interesting to see that the PS3 isn't either. I wonder if more games will become cross platform, like Armored Core 4 has become.
We should get together for excessive amounts of Wii gaming, it has been a while since that happened.

I'm sure in a year the PS3 will be the 'true gamer's system' (right...) and the Wii will be the 'everyone and their mom system', and the 360 will be the 'teen and up system'. Other than the Blu ray issue I don't seen anything wrong with the system line-up in this gen.

I don't hate the PS3 any more, I just don't see any reason to buy it. The wii on the other hand I want one of my own just for the virtual console games (btw NeoGeo is in the works for Wii download play and Jaguar is rumor as well), but than, i'm an old skool gamer, not hardcore, just a core-gamer.

its ineresting to hear that the DS is outselling most things over in japan. and the fact that i have a friend over there that cant seem to get her hands on one, no matter what she does, is quite interesting.

Yeah, the DS has been out for a while too. It's interesting to hear how high the demand continues to be over there. I love my DS, so it's something I can understand.

you should, like, send her one. if you can find one. I havn't seen any at target since before xmas. I'm sure best buys and Frys have them. But its still touch (lol, get it, its a DS joke) and go with DS's being in stock at the mid level retailer level.
