I believe a Miss Morgana Macawber admitted to having attempted some spell or another and miscalculated--resulting in the current oddity.

It is not. It will give me something useful to put my mind to. I would like it very much if you allowed me privy to this.

[a pause as he thinks on this] Ja, I believe she was one of the many kind people I met upon my arrival here. I do not think she is the type of person to have done this on purpose... and she sounded plenty penitent in her admittance. She also mentioned working on a reversal spell.
