Here's your life story, but reduced to two hours. What was your birth, your mother going into labor in the backseat of a taxi -- that's now your opening sequence. Losing your virginity is the climax of your first act. Addiction to painkillers is your second-act build. The results of your biopsy is your third-act reveal. Lauren Bacall would be perfect as your grandmother. William H. Macy as your father. Directed by Peter Jackson or Roman Polanski

A Time to KillecullenDecember 19 2008, 05:05:21 UTC
What is it in us that seeks the truth? Is it our minds? Or is it our hearts? I set out to prove a black man could receive a fair trial in the South... that we are all equal in the eyes of the law. That's not the truth; because the eyes of the law are human eyes. Yours and mine, and until we can see eachother as equals, justice is never going to be evenhanded. It will remain nothing more than a reflection of our own prejudices. So until that day, we have a duty under God to seek the truth... not with our eyes, not with our minds, where fear and hate turn commonality into prejudice, but with our hearts.
Animal Farm by George OrwellecullenDecember 19 2008, 05:06:26 UTC
Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself.
There are no certainties where dreams are concerned. Some are achieved, but just as many sputter and die. When they do, it's tempting to wonder why you ever dreamed at all.
