Jack rapped lightly on the door frame and then stepped into the room with a warm smile on his face. "Morning, Mr. Agate," He said smoothly. It was early, and it was another menial boring task, but at the same time, it was Jul's dad. Maybe he could kinda give him the once over and let Jesse know what he was getting himself into. At least he assumed his baby brother was still dating Jul, Jesse hadn't owled much recently. Maybe he'd have to pay him a visit at school, teach him some lessons about keeping in touch.
Right, task at hand, Jack. "Get some papers that need pushing, sir?"
Ed gave him a warm smile, it was an effortless easy one. Something that he'd mastered very well after years of battling with his wife and not letting anyone be the wiser.
"Always Jack. Always..." He pushed himself away from his desk a bit and turned towards the boy from his chair. "But I'm always looking for an excuse to skiv... want to go get some coffee with me? Papers tend to wait well." Sure, he'd talked to the boy before, but never really talked to him. He was a good kid though...at least he hoped he was (and therefore Jesse was too)
"Uh, well..." It was a tempting offer, getting away from this place for a while. But at the same time, it was the best job he could hope for and he kind of wanted to keep it. "I'd love to, sir, but I should probably ask my boss first?"
"Just tell him I was taking you on an errand that I needed help with. I have some minor sway around here. Been around the building a bit." He stood up and leaned back against his desk. Was it just him or did Jack seem a little scared...and looking for an excuse not to go. Maybe he was being cautious, thought he was getting tested. (to bad the tests would come later).
"We won't even leave the Ministry if you'd like. I just feel the need to walk around. Maybe head down to the cafeteria."
