So, so many congratulations!jamiewhoOctober 6 2019, 04:03:04 UTC
I am so happy for you both!
I had been thinking about you guys a little while ago, and realized I hadn’t seen any baby updates for some time. I was a little worried that something may have happened, but tried to remind myself of how fucking exhausted I was immediately after Phoenix arrived - of course updating your LiveJournal is low on the list of priorities. I am so glad to see she is here, and healthy, and beautiful.
It sounds like you’re doing wonderfully and settling into this new stage of your life. Once again, congratulations.
(Also: damn, Raven, way to birth a baby like a champ sans painkillers! I had morphine, which didn’t touch my pain - just made me loopy as hell. I think of myself as a pretty decent masochist but I needed that epidural!)

It did actually occur to me that some people here might have wondered what happened (though most people I know personally are also on, ahem, Facebook). All the more reason to come back to my (almost) first "social network".
Anyway, thank you so much for the good wishes! We have been (mostly) pretty happy, apart from one bad week, now three or so weeks in the rear-view mirror. *crossed fingers*

I know, right! She actually had third-degree tearing, but by the time the baby was actually coming, there was no time for pain-killers even if she'd asked for them (never mind an epidural
