*sheepish grin* Nick, Logan, and I are all obsessed with Discovery. I’ve heard there’s a number of the older fans who don’t like it, although Nick has been a fan since his childhood (Picard’s era) and he loves the new stuff. We spend every week impatiently awaiting a new episode...although once it finishes up next week, I’m definitely looking forward to switching back to Voyager, which we were watching early last year.
First of all, happy new year, and thanks! It was actually your post of December 21st (about which LJ sent me a notification). Reading it definitely helped me to write my own. (It's still open in a tab; I might even comment. But for now, I'll just say I hope you managed to enjoy the holidays, even in these very strange, isolated times.)
If I post my notes and/or write an actual post about Disco I'll be most interested in hearing opposing views. (Be warned, though: I think it's really bad. I hope I don't spoil your enjoyment of it.)

That is a pretty horrifying photo, though I believe it's been pointed out the animal he's digging into isn't actually endangered, so as an omnivore myself I have no moral right to cast stones.
Still, as a symbol of his avarice, I think it suits.
