Does anyone else have issues with restricting your sleep? I think about sleep all the time in the way I used to think about eating when my ED was out of hand the most-- the "I'm not worthy of the same amount as everyone else," "how could I spend the time sleeping (or eating) when I could be using that time to do something else that's more useful

One of the ways of thinking that helped me allow myself to sleep more was getting myself to believe that, if I get more sleep, I can actually function more productively during the hours that I am awake. I tried to see sleep as not a luxury for me, something that I can or should do without, but as a luxury for others who may spend time with me who would do better with a friend who wasn't exhausted and zoned out all the time.
Of course, this has obvious parallels to much disordered eating, and is all much easier solved philosophically than in practice.
This is an old post I've just happened to stumble across. Have you had any progress with your sleep?
