2007 meme
1. Was 2007 a good year for you?
Absolutely. Will be tough to beat but I'm looking forward to trying.
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
It's a toss-up: either when Will said he'd move in with me, or when we brought Brisco home.
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Probably any one of the many moments I spent troubleshooting a certain project's "network issues" that turned out to NOT be the network. Either that, or the 90 minutes I spent in my first Bikram yoga class.
4. What are your plans for 2008?
Pay off the last of my debt. Refinance my condo. Start saving for a house with Will. Become a morning person. Get straight A's at school. Cut back on booze. Get my handstand back. Finish yoga teacher training and *finally* get certified (something I should have done 4 years ago). Be kinder to myself. Travel.
5. What countries did you visit?
Sadly, 2007 was not a banner year for travel for me. I did not leave the country, and for that, I am very sad.
6. What date in 2007 will remain etched in your memory?
Um...December 24, the day Will gave me an iPhone and I cried a little.
7. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Another toss-up: Either going back to school or losing 25 lbs.
8. What was your biggest failure?
I did not travel.
9. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
I was out of work and sick as a dog with some kind of flu for 3 days, the only time I have really had any illness in well over a year. Otherwise I have perceived myself to be quite healthy.
10. What was the best thing you bought?
Gosh, um...prolly my iMac.
11. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
No one's behavior made me depressed. I was only a little appalled by one person and had put this person on my "life's too short list" for a little while. But this person made it up to me and slowly regained my trust. Now there is really no one of importance on my "life's too short list" and I prefer it that way.
12. Where did most of your money go?
My mortgage.
13. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Becoming vegan again.
14. What songs will always remind you of 2007?
They tried to make me go to rehab, and I said, no no no.
15. Compared to this time last year are you:
a) Fatter or thinner? Thinner
b) Happier or sadder? Happier
c) Richer or poorer? Well, I have a lot less debt so I guess I am a li'l less poor?
16. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Traveling, yoga, and of course: exercise and socializing.
17. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Prolly just drinkin'. Especially when Irene came to visit, aye yi-yi.
18. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it with my family and it was nice.
19. Which LJ users did you meet for the first time?
With about 2 or 3 exceptions, I know everyone on my FL irl.
20. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Over and over again, and I continue to still. Lucky me, it's with the same guy every time.
22. What was your favourite TV show?
My TiVo broke and I stopped watching TV.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, I don't really hate anyone, it requires too much energy. Although I still hate George Bush and his entire administration, but that is a long-term and all-encompasing hate which probably falls outside the scope of this question.
24. What was/were the best books you read?
"The End of Food," by Thomas Pawlick. It got me really fired up about paying even more attention to what I put into my body and just as importantly: where it comes from.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Man, I was a musical lame-o this year and didn't really seek out much new stuff. I got into Amy Winehouse for a while. And I found Dr. John who is very cool and y'all should check him out. I am also very much liking Flight of the Conchords at this moment. All three of these are very much outside my usual sphere of music, which I guess is quite a good thing.
26. What did you want and get?
I wanted Will to move in with me, and he did!
27. What did you want and not get?
A fulfilling job that I absolutely loved.
28. What was your favourite film this year?
Oh jeez, dunno...I probably watched fewer movies this year than in my entire adult life.
29. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I met a bunch of peeps over at the Pei Wei near my condo, and we ate and drank a lot. I turned 32.
30. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
Overall it was a good and satisfying year. More travel would have been nice. More yoga would have been nice.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
It got better. Losing weight made me care a little more about my clothing, probably because I had to replace most of it. I think I look a little more put-together now. I try to keep it a little edgy but I suspect that I often fail.
32. What kept you sane?
Yoga, Will, Sophie, & Brisco.
33. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
I have not really had a true celebrity crush since Kirk Cameron was on the cover of Tiger Beat.
34. Which political issue stirred you the most?
OMG, don't even get me started....
35. Who did you miss?
My grandmother, Irene, Bellinda, Alison, Andrius, Janis, Timme :(
36. Did you treat somebody badly in 2007?
I hope not.
37. Did somebody treat you badly in 2007?
Not really. There were minor tiffs here and there but nothing that did permanent damage.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year?
I learned a lot this year, don't know how to sum it up....
39. What would you like to have in 2008 that you didn't have in 2007?
A ring...did I really just say/type that?? =:-o
40. How many one night stands?
Zero.
41. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year...
The song I am thinking of has no lyrics, so you'll have to come over and let me hum a few bars for you.
