Since I had been without a stylist for a few months, my hair had gotten pretty scraggly and I decided it was time to bite the bullet and find someone new. I got a lot of suggestions from people on where to go, but I finally decided on HairPort in Sterlilng, mostly because they have vegan options for color and styling

i loooove it!!! and i understand about the locks of love stuff ;P i figured with my hair even that they would have sold my hair rather than making it into a wig - which was ok with me, since it would still benefit them. hence my check statement ;P

We were on the same wavelength, I just chopped off 10 inches this past weekend, mine can go to locks of love (I had not dyed it in 3 years, which was killing me)

Oh wow...ya know, I had been warned to look into LoL before donating my hair a few months back based on the assertion of shady practices, but this is the first thing I've seen in writing about it. Interesting...must investigate further.

And I'll probably write my check to another charity at this point, since LoL is dubious.... Thanks for the tip.
