I have been buying makeup lately like it's going out of style. I'm trying to replace all my old products with vegan equivalents. It's not as hard as you might think. Urban Decay , for example, has some great products, is really vegan friendly, and everything is clearly marked, so it's super easy to shop their website ( Read more... )

Ooo! Neat! I'll have to stop by the local store that carries them to see what I think of their colors (rather than relying purely on screen tones).

I started wearing makeup more often in the past year, too. I found that the itchiness and gunky feeling that I got with makeup in the past was not the same when I got Aveda stuff (I'm not positive they are full vegan, but they are primarily plant-based and don't test with animals). If I get the same lack-of-reaction with these folks, then I'll know it was all the chemical crap in the more mainstream stuff.

I have also used Aveda makeup and liked it. My Aveda stuff is not being purged from my current makeup stash. :)

Both Aveda and Urban Decay still have chemically type ingredients, but the overall quality is still far better than any of your drug store brands. You'll have to let me know what you think! Urban Decay has some really fun colors....

Oh wow. Thanks for introducing me to this brand. I've been meaning to post to elicit some suggestions because I haven't been happy with the few brands of mascara I've used in the last few months. I have fine, almost non-existent frumpy eyelashes, and lancome and the store brands all just clump and look like shit, not to mention making my eyelashes fall out.

Oof, the cheap stuff makes your eyelashes fall out?? That's awful! :(

Just to let you know, I can't vouch for the Urban Decay mascara myself, since I haven't tried it. I use Ecco Bella and Zuzu mascaras, which are both vegan, and more naturally type brands. If you feel like trying either of those, you can buy Ecco Bella at Whole Foods or health food stores, and Zuzu online.

Good luck with whatever you try, and let me know how it works out for you!

I also really like Fresh's "Supernova Mascara". I got it at a fresh store in NYC, but Blue Mercury carries it, and probably Sephora.
