My first real plied yarn (two-ply) seems to be a rousing success so far. :) I've got it skeined up and in some clips, and I'll finish it off tomorrow and take some pics. But right now it's lovely and fluffy and bouncy and I think I'm in love. :-D  I might make myself a hat out of it ( Read more... )

The smell goes away in a few weeks, generally.

Just don't make the mistake I did of smelling it right after it comes out of the vinegar, especially if it's orange mixed with fruit punch. EW. (OTOH? light chocolate corriedale + orange + fruit punch koolaid? Makes the most WONDERFUL fox red color.)

Oooh, that sounds lovely. I'm more into the jewel tones for myself, but I can think of one or two people that would look good in that color.

BTW, did you get the sack of mill ends from Brown Sheep? I'm still dithering over it. It's such a great deal that I keep convincing myself there's got to be something wrong with it. X-D

Not yet, I'm planning to order it tomorrow, I think. When I get it, you're welcome to come pick through it. :)

Also, I totally agree on the jeweltones, but I needed it for a sculpture and now I kinda think it'd be pretty along with grey and black and a heathery oatmeal color for some stripey socks.
