Look at this image carefully. What do you see? (If you need a hint, click the link under the image - or click the image to see it larger on my website.)
I only saw the elk because it was moving... any movement in a static scene is like seeing the lights on an airplane moving across a star-filled sky... If you are out and about and want to see if there is something out there in the distance, it's best to look and try not to focus because when looking out of focus you are more likely to detect motion than if you're trying to focus. The opposite with hearing, If you cup your hands at your ears, you can make hearing directional and can focus on sounds that are masked by background noise and the chorus in your head. (In my case, bees.)
did you see the pheasant, marmot, pika, rattlesnake, deermouse and crow? I didn't either. But, I did see some designs in the rock that I won't mention...
My first answer was "looks kind of like Columbia River Flood basalt to me; nice jointing, probably only one flow in the main outcrop, no visible faults or folds. Oh, and a critter in the background, for scale, too.
what freaks me out is the climber scaling the rock. (having fallen myself doing so many years ago-I was lucky though that the rock at the bottom stopped my rapid descent, albeit abruptly.)
in the image, I saw the elk right away (I had forgotten that I saw included them when I composed the image and seeing the image recently was wondering why I made it. - I didn't see the cow elk though till afterward.
not sure what tokens are good for but evidently with this (new?) "LJ like" system, if you add the "like" buttons to a post and someone clicks, you get ten tokens to use for additional services,
