totally, yeah! two semesters of Latin made me completely aware of dative vs. accusative objects, and actually changed the way I form sentences and use prepositions now... o_0

Although I had a conversation with a friend this past weekend who said we can trace all of the frequently ignored in speech grammar rules to this one book by this one guy who decided to make things that way. So we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves.
How far do you think Star Trek would've gotten if the mission was "to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to go boldly where no man has gone before"? Or, worse, "to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, boldly to go where no man has gone before"?
