I'll start off by pointing out that I'm an atheist, and so I was probably going to get less out of this film than believers. However, I still expected something. I actually kind of enjoyed it. The premise of a serious religious film like this filled me with dread because while I like the idea of faith and everything in the world having a true purpose rather than being the result of a series of a ripple effect from a single event at the beginning of time, I'm just not a religious person and find that all too often religious films only seem to be to push their beliefs onto me. And with Mel 'I dont care what the truth is, you will listen to my version of history and believe it or else' Gibson in charge I certainly was expecting this to be another movie that had me hating him with the same passion Eddie shows a certain armegeddon director :) (I certainly did after the way he decided to take the William Wallace story, bin everything but the setting and the name and write a total fictious account which now seems to be many peoples view of what happened ( ... )
