Alice was just such a swirling ball of negativity. Nothing you ever did was good enough for her. No matter what you did, she could manage to snatch the one flaw out of the jaws of success. And I could tell from the first time I met her... if you recall, she was a bit miffed I violated the secret girl-pal code and declined her invitation to accompany her to the ladies room at the bar that night when I told you, "I'm only going to say this once, Eddie, then I'm going to shut up and be a good, supportive friend.
