a gorgeous line. anyway, here's a bunch of things (in no particular order) that i'm really excited about:

-halloween (the holiday, not the shitty rob zombie remake)
-in defense of the genre by say anything
-reconnecting with an old friend
-i empire by angels and airwaves

are you just assuming its shitty? i enjoyed it quite a bit. it was a great tribute to 80's horror. the scenery was great, the teen titties were flying all over the place, and the violence was brutal. two thumbs up!

i didn't see it. i actually like rob zombie as a director, but i disagree with the concept as a whole from what i've read about the movie. i don't have a problem with remakes per se. the new dawn of the dead, while a complete departure from the original aside from the setting, was still a great addition to the zombie genre. however, when you reveal the reasoning behind a villain's dementia or obsession, it demystifies the character to the point of irrelevancy. hanibal lector: totally insane, in a very charming way. why is he such a nut? who knows, but he's intriguing, partly because we don't know what made him the way he is. then look at hanibal rising . seriously, family eaten during the war? darth vader. terrifying, looming force. turns out the most feared person in the universe used to be a whiny kid, then a whiny teenager. "why's that vader dude so pissed off?" "i don't know dude. listens to too much alkaline trio or something." gimmie that scarred back of his head in that weird black egg thing, not a bunch of ( ... )
