Eddie kicked another rock across the dusty road. He'd been sitting and then standing and then sitting and then standing at the roadside where the driveway for the farm began, waiting for Jason all morning. Not that Jason was later, Eddie had just been so distracted that the guys had told him to stop getting in their way

Lost in thought, he wouldn't have noticed the car going past if not for the cloud of dust it kicked up. Waving a hand in front of his face, Eddie looked up as it backed up and realised it was Jason. Jason was here.

Eddie grinned and stood up, walking over to lean in the window. The nervousness he felt was overshadowed for the moment by pure relief at just seeing Jason again. He never thought he'd miss someone as much at that. He wanted to pull Jason out of the car, out of sight of everything and have him all to himself. "Hello, stranger. I think we've met once or twice."

"Yeah, I think we have. Aren't y'that bloke, the pitcher; Eddie something?" Jason grinned and unlocked the door. In a breath Eddie was inside the car and Jason was kissing him, drowning in his taste and breathing the same oxygen, his hands were in Eddies' hair, pulling his body against his own.

"Yank, I love you..."

Having Jason there, being able to touch him and taste him, for a moment it was like the past few weeks hadn't happened at all. Everything disappeared but the two of them. Just the sound of his voice was enough to send warmth right through Eddie.

"I love you." Another kiss. "Love you." Again, softer. "Love you."
