The trip home

It wasn't like leaving Serenity Glen where they sang at you and then wandered off, apathy apparent. He shook Jeremy's hand and didn't have to promise anything about staying in touch, because they both knew it wouldn't happen and you were supposed to stop lying in rehab. He smiled crookedly at Louise, she waved, and that was that. Goodbyes done. ( Read more... )

Jason pulled up to the curb in front of the complex and got out of the car. He hoped Colt was home but since their return home from St. Louis his son's behavior hadn't become more sedentary. In fact Jason was tempted to pull him aside and shake the information out of him; the unnamed shard that pried them apart when Will's voice went soft, his eyes clouded over and darkened. Something was wrong damn it and Jason was tired of waiting for the fucking answer!

Jason walked up to the letter boxes his teeth nearly grinding. That wasn't entirely true. Jason was just fucking tired. Jason flipped through the circulars, junk mail, bills and adverts two more times hoping that the contents in his hands would change and magically there would be a letter there for him. Eddie had heard Jason come in, sitting up as nervous excitement sent butterflies fluttering in his stomach. Silly to ber nervous, really, but that was what Jason did to him. He smiled as Jason appeared in the doorway. The look wavered a little when he saw the gun aimed at him, and then was back again when it was lowered.

"Surprise," he said as he stood up and walked around to stand before Jason. Eddie waited for the shock to leave Jason's face as he needlessly added, "I'm back."

Jason holstered his gun in the blink of an eye and yanked Eddie into his arms. He held him tightly and burrowed his face into Eddie's throat inhaling him at the juncture of his jaw line near his left ear.

"Baby. Please tell me y'all right; that y'clean: that y'home."

Jason kissed Eddie's jaw softly nipping at it, working down the curve until he reached Eddie's mouth.

"Tell me." He whispered.

There was no keeping the smile off his face now. Jason's arms were wrapped around him, Jason was kissing him, and he was home. It didn't get better than that. Eddie felt swept up, Jason's embrace like a tornado of affection.

"I'm home, I'm all right." Eddie grinned as he ran his hands up Jason's back. "I said I'd come back, didn't I? I'll always come back to you."
