I'm really happy for you :) It sounds like this is the right step to make, to keep your career and life moving along. And believe me, I know what its like, I've done it a few times, and I'm doing it again, in oh, a week or two.

As for names, I'm not really a fan of the name changing thing myself. But for you two, it seems quite symbolic. I can't decide though!
