Title: And Now All My Dreams Are Fading
Fandom: RPF
Characters: Rob Pattinson, Clémence Poésy, Katie Leung
Rating: G
Word Count: 191
Robert talks to Clémence about the past. She is older, wiser, not that there is too much real wisdom at their age. Mostly failures. Failed auditions. Failed relationships. They connect through childhood ambitions that are long forgotten. She steals a fag out of his pack, and he offers her his lighter. He buys them cups upon cups of espresso as they talk all night. It isn’t as much that they are pessimistic, simply realistic. He finds comfort in knowing someone else feels the way he does. She understands, and it is nice.
Robert talks to Katie about the future. At first he thinks she is the epitome of sheltered naivety. She tells him about her plans of uni, a career in graphic design, and her dream flat in the heart of his city. All he wants to do is to shake her and tell her that life never goes as planned. Before he can do so, she looks at him as if she can read his mind, telling him that it probably won’t happen. Then he sees it all in her eyes. The sadness, the insecurity, and he realises. She knows.
