O Captain, My Captain

I'm off to see Senator Barack Obama speak today. I hope I get a seat. If he's not the next President I will at least be seing one of the modern great American orators. I really hope the Senator is the nominee, but my vote for him was decided almost three years ago. I'm not who he needs to convince ( Read more... )

I heard an inteview before the NH primaries on NPR a couple days ago where an older gentleman, when asked why he was voting for Obama, broke into tears. He said that he hadn't felt the kind of hope that Obama brings him since Kennedy was running for President.

While the Republicans are all loudly sucking Reagan's cock I'm going to happily support a man who has been likened to Kennedy. Bring on the second coming of Camelot.

You tell it like it is girl!

There are no words to describe what seeing him in person was like. I'm gonna post some pictures and what not as soon as I can.

Get yo ass to Canada! Obama would make a great motivational speaker or maybe a preacher, as long as he can continue to plagiarize and as long as he can take his speechwriters with him... But POTUS? I don't think so. Food for thought: In 2000 the country got stuck with the less experienced candidate. How's that working for us? Obama belongs in one of Oprah's broadway shows, not the White House. Any chance he actually took questions when you saw him speak? I mean, I know you heard him, but did he hear you?

Your 'friend' in Florida (by way of 'Canada')

Wow stumping for Hillary much.

No he didn't take question. Probably because he spent 45 minutes outside addressing with a bullhorn the thousands of people who couldn't get in.

Someone I know went to see Hillary nearby too. She didn't take questions either. Probably because the number of people that showed up was about equal to her staff, and she won my state.

All's I'm saying is... I don't see what the big attraction is. I'm seeing flash not substance. A man who can wax poetic with someone else's words. Let's not forget, people used to line up by the thousands to see Gavin Rossdale:) Fame is fleeting.

It's funny I don't remember you being so quick to follow the herd. I thought you were a little more of an independent thinker. Guess old age has gotten to you, huh?
