aww... I really like this take on the episode. I like how their relationship is so subtle; this totally could have happened in the episode!

"Illogical I may be, Spock, but it's a damn relief, knowing you'll be around to keep reminding me of the fact."

That line is just lovely and so in character and encapsulates why I love Spock/McCoy.

Yay, I'm glad I found this. It's nice to see a follow-up of that episode, because I found it just so touching the way McCoy reacted to Spock being blinded. He definitely seems like the type to be hard on himself about that sort of thing.

And it's just so sweet the way Spock reassures him.
