Really, any period of war is amazing. It's funny, that I should feel this way now, because when I was younger, I thought history was one of the dullest subjects in school.

I think the problem is that in school, you're just presented with facts and numbers, and it doesn't mean anything. I want to learn about the reasons, and I don't mean like "This guy shot this other guy and so they had war." That's just an excuse to start war. Before that, you get all these tensions building up, all this fear and suspicion and then it all boils over and - war.

See, I've always loved history, and I attribute it firmly to being home schooled until college. It never felt pointless and boring because it never was. Of course, I've no head for dates, either... I don't know. But wars certainly are fascinating. The History of War. That's be a nice major.
