*happy sigh* That was.... easily my favorite of the five movies so far.
Angry Harry was done just perfectly. Not watered down, but also always sympathetic. Daniel Radcliffe gets better and better, especially under good directors.
Ron. Oh, David Yates, you finally gave me Ron. SS started off on the right foot ("I'll be a knight."), CoS was simply a travesty (the spider whimpering still makes me CRINGE just thinking about it), PoA had some moments (but was unforgivable for giving one of Ron's most important lines to Hermione), GoF was close (the fight was handled so well), but now...! Ron was completely and utterly perfect in every way. Looking back on it - and I'm sure I'll need to watch it again - I can't think of a single Ron moment that was off key.
Hermione always had me smiling because she, too, was finally done right. I did miss the "I think I'm feeling a bit rebellious" line, but oh well.
The Harry/Hermione and Harry/Ron friendships were both done beautifully.
The closeness of Ron/Hermione in OotP was made perfectly clear. So many times in that book, Harry observes that they've been talking, doing things together, etc. And apparently, those references are easy to miss for certain people in fandom. *cough* The movie format allows them to be much more evident. The teaspoon line! Oh, bliss! The trio in that scene - in the WHOLE MOVIE, really - was so heart-wrenchingly perfect, I believe I may have warm fuzzies for weeks.
Luna was completely delightful. Her voice, her eyes, her expressions: all perfect. You'll notice the word "perfect" a lot in this entry... ahem.
Sirius. *lip trembles* That's all I have to say about that. (Except for this: GARY OLDMAN <3333333 !!!!1!)
Ginny was handled just perfectly: enough of her presence to show that she's becoming more important in Harry's life, but still very much in the background.
I loved Tonks. They made her cute and fun without being obnoxious.
When I first heard that they were going to make Cho the sneak, I was mad. But all is forgiven because they used Veritaserum.
There wasn't enough Remus, BUT I was grateful for the Remus/Sirius moments kindly provided by Mr. Yates & Co. And very grateful that they kept Remus in the scene with Harry at the veil.
Umbridge was so perfect that I wanted to laugh and strangle her at the same time. "I must not tell lies" was just as creepy and evil as JKR described.
THE WEASLEY TWINS' ESCAPE OMG WTF FANGIRL TIMES ELEVENTY-BILLION!
I loved how insane Bellatrix was.
Kreacher. Yeah, perfect. *shudders*
Dumbledore's exit! He has style, indeed.
Wish the Marauders flashback had been longer. Even so, I liked the Occlumency lessons with Snape.
Dumbledore's Army, one of my favorite things in the entire series, was absolutely everything I imagined and hoped for.
Loved the Department of Mysteries! Loved the thestrals! Loved how they did the veil!
Okay, you know what? I could have really shortened this post by simply saying, "OMG EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT AND STUFF."
