How else could you be? It's natural. Someone who falls off a house is GOING to be afraid of heights. Someone who repeatedly injures a part of themselves is going to favour that part and be careful about it. If someone hurts you, in any way, you're going to be scared of them and cautious. It's not anything to be ashamed of. *hugs* Letting fear and anger rule when there's a threat is good. It shows you that you're on top of your game. So long as it doesn't rule every aspect of your life, day in and day out.. There's no harm in it. None at all.
