With another open bottle of beer in hand, he walked over to her. He could still walk straight, at least, so she might not immediately notice he was tipsy. "Hey, Bellflower-s*hic*san."
...okay, maybe she would notice right away.

He wondered suddenly, as he finished the last of his beer, just what powers Marbles had that she was one of the few who could see them. "Mmm... ever figure out more about that?"
And, with the ease of someone whose thoughts are already kind of fuzzy, he switched the subject in the same breath. "There were more down there than I'd imagined there might be; there must be thousands of different kinds." He set the empty bottle on the table with slightly exaggerated carefulness, trying not to put it down too loudly. "I remember more about a lot of them now, though. So it's good I went, after all."

"...hnn, okay." He was fairly certain he would remember later, but... maybe she just didn't want to talk to him while he was intoxicated? He could understand that.
Well, whatever the reason, he didn't want to do anything to damage whatever chances they had to rebuild whatever friendship there was between them. So he just smiled, and said, "We'll talk later, definitely."
He didn't make any move to get up from the bench just yet, his gaze going back to watching people move around and mingle. He was still smiling slightly; he didn't mind that she'd called a raincheck, though whether that was due to the alcohol or because he genuinely didn't mind was anyone's guess.

She watched as well in silence for a few moments, and then rose, giving Cloud a small smile. "I think I may see what food is left - would you like something as well?"

He smiled at her, in an approximation of his normal muted expression. "It was nice talking with you again, Bellflower." While that was true, he would never have said it so openly if he'd been sober.

The sentiment was a sincere one - it was good to be on more even footing with Cloud again.
