Spring felt rooted to the spot after hearing Locke's speech. The man's retreat seemed cowardly to Spring. If Locke really believed in the ideals he had introduced to them all, he would have taken charge immediately. Or perhaps that is simply what Spring felt he would have done in the other man's position. As it stood, however, Spring wasn't sure what he himself should do ( ... )
