It was not at all what Batgirl had expected.

She could read a great many people, predict a great many things - but those were based on physical movements and reactions, all of which a giant tree lacked. She knew nothing of what they would see after the climb, and she certainly hadn't expected a dormitory-looking place, a thing that seemed more like a civilian's residential area than the inside of a tree.

Cautious, ever wary, she took a look around her, scanning the room for the slightest sounds or disturbances. Nothing yet... at least, nothing dangerous. Batgirl straightened.

"We're here."

Spidey was second off the tree after Batgirl, and crouched down instinctively as he viewed his surroundings.

"Coolest treehouse I've ever seen," he remarked, standing up straight, which was unusual for him when in costume.

Batman brought up the rear, wordless as he landed and surveyed the area, eyes keen and hands not far at all from his utility belt. Immediately, he moved for the shadows, signaling to Batgirl to do the same. This was recon, work to him, not a social gathering, and certainly not a date he was chaperoning-- then again, if Bruce knew about the kiss Cassandra had given Parker under the mistletoe a few weeks ago, they probably wouldn't be here, but back in Rivelata, with Batman giving the younger hero the most stringent, terrifying "talk" the boy was ever likely to get from a parental figure.

As things stood, however, he was willing to let the friendship continue-- as taciturn and broody as he was, there were things the more upbeat and social Spider-Man could teach her that she needed to learn. Still, Batman was ever on the watch for the association dulling her skills-- something neither she nor he could afford, given how dangerous Rivelata had proven over the months.

A tall and young black-haired man in a white suit was pacing upon the twisted branches called roads, flipping through a journal with a disapproving scowl on his face. How dare... how dare a space invading island appear and form some kind of bridge between their island and the tree?!? With something of a small and irritated squawk, he suddenly sat down in the middle of a path and wrote furiously on a page of his journal.

Aliens. They must be aliens. And they were coming--for what reason, he wasn't sure yet. Could this be the exile's work, the work of that man? He wasn't certain just yet, but he wanted the bridge cut loose. Immediately.

After writing, he stood up once again to pace about. Perhaps he would head toward the elevator and go directly to the source? Or maybe he should stay here and babysit the residences? Frustrated, he dumbly stood in place and tapped his foot wondering what to do or how to go about things before deciding that he'd make his way toward the elevator after all.

Blood had been heading back from the marketplace, skipping along happily dragging her sword behind her as she regaled Ghost with tales of the strange people she had seen coming over the bridge. She was just getting to the good part, the part about the talking sword, when she heard something. Pulling on Ghost's pant's leg she pointed towards where the noises were coming from.

"Hey, did you hear that?" She wanted to sneak ahead and check it out, but she didn't want to leave Ghost behind.
