Characters: Hakuteiken (snobbiest)
Date/Time: Sometime in early April...
Location: His favorite chill-zone, The City Without Shape
Rating: G? PG, if you count the mention of blood from injury?
Summary: Once more, Hakuteiken vanished from the face of Edensphere to find himself in a place he doesn't mean to frequent.

------
... the fourth floor. Again.

Was it so amusing to someone or something that Hakuteiken would be transported to that place so often? This would be the third time he was trapped down there, and just like the first time, once more he was alone.

Darkness. As far as he recalled, there'd been some sort of environment or setting here the last two times--in fact, the last time he and a group of elevator captives walked right into one of their memories. But this time he stepped out, and there was only darkness. He could hear his own footsteps but could not see where he was going; his arms went out before him, seeking purchase on anything he could use to guide him... There was nothing to see, nothing to hold.

Though his ears perked up, and he stopped in his tracks to listen. A quick clicking sound echoed throughout the floor. The darkness was numbing and to some extent distracting, so the man closed his eyes and continued to listen before slowly and steadily seeking the source of that sound.

He walked some distance, the sound getting louder and louder before he caught himself from tripping over something low in front of him. As soon as he steadied himself, there was a buzz and then a low hum as the room was momentarily engulfed in a bright light...

As the brightness faded, it gave way to two fighters with blades locked in heated battle. But he didn't hear a single sound, and the scene continued like a silent movie. Or perhaps a television show with the volume muted. He recognized one of the fighters as himself, while his opponent was the man with that face from the hideous hooded sweatshirt -NOTTOUSHI- he'd worn during the winter. That meant he was Toushi, though... didn't it? The two pulled back and exchanged words; was the other... challenging him? Foolishness.

He saw himself raise the sword; the blade scattered into thousands upon thousands of petal-like blades charging toward his opponent when suddenly...

There was an explosion. A flash of light parted the attack, leaving clouds of dust and smoke in its wake. And as it cleared it revealed Hakuteiken's broken tekkou, blood from injury trailing down his arm... and the ground split open just beside him, the result of whatever attack was just used against him. Whatever it was that Toushi wanted, he was pushing every single button to get it.

Not that it mattered. Hakuteiken turned his blade downward, hilt raised toward the sky before he released it, allowing it to drop toward the ground when it seemed to vanish. The skies darkened, and their surroundings seemed to disappear. The ground seemed like water where walls of swords arose on both their sides. The swords burst into a shower of blades, far more than there were before.

Suddenly it was like the world around him became choppy and hard to watch, and then he was shrouded once again in complete darkness. Behind him was a familiar ping and the sound of the elevator doors opening up.

With that, he decided that it was time to go. He wasn't sure exactly how long he'd been gone this time, and he was sure it was an absurd amount of wasted time. No. It wasn't entirely useless, for he'd seen what he might be able to do. At any rate, he must find that sword -the zanpakutou, as he was told it was called- for it was in some manner a manifestation of his soul. If he was to obtain it, surely he could better use his abilities to protect Kazahana. It was time to organize the people of Edensphere, to protect the society and work toward its improvement and progress.

There was much to be done upon his return...
