Zombie got up from the ground, desperately getting himself out of the elevator. That build up in his body was getting harder to control, and he was still very on edge. His eyes scanned the room, his senses more alert than ever. It was pitch black, but something felt odd. He started to see what looked like some projection, and this sense of deja vu.

It was pitch black, and there was no light to guide the boy for the time being. His hands gingerly felt at the cold walls, not knowing where he was headed or where he was going. He just knew he had to keep moving forward, and he did just that.

His body felt heavy, especially his neck. He moved his hands from the walls to feel something around his neck, and it was cold and metal. He didn’t pay attention to that for too long though, as he saw a faint light, but it did not reassure him.

He stepped into the light, and suddenly a new world was opened up to him. He saw other children, but they had strange metal rings around their necks. The children all looked confused as he did, some of them muttering words he could not make out.

He finally entered the room hesitantly, as he had no idea where he was. Most of the other children were busy with each other, talking to one another and examining each other. There was one child who was not interacting with the other children. His eyes fixed on her, and he watched her from a distance.

She turned around to see him, and she was the one that came towards him. Her large blue eyes were warm, her smile reassuring and pleasant. He was still scared, but for some weird reason seeing this girl made things easier.

“Did you just wake up now?” She asked him, her voice carefree. She looked like she wasn’t even in such a dreary place, and that she had other things on her mind.

“Ah…” He wasn’t sure how to respond, and he couldn’t collect his thoughts to properly speak. Eventually, he asked the most obvious question. “What’s…that on your neck…?”

She tilted her head, confused by his question. “Eh?” She then began to smile, which then led to laughter. He watched as she laughed, rather confused. Did he say something wrong?

“Ahaha, you’re funny!” She pointed at him, moving closer to him. “You’ve got one too!” His body froze at the words, his hands soon grasping at the collar around his neck desperately.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a window that observed them all. There was a shadow, and two eyes glared at all the children, especially him menacingly. His body froze, just staring at those eyes. Luckily, this girl started to talk to him again, and he snapped out of the trance.

“Where are we…?” He asked, starting to examine and move around the room more.

“I don’t know.” She shrugged, following him.

“But…why are we even here? I…when everyone woke up, they were just here?” He asked, trying to get answers from the girl.

She gave a little nod, her voice much calmer and softer than before. “Yeah.”

“What were you doing before that? And what is this?” A hand of his felt the texture of the cold, metal collar around his neck. “What’s your name?” Then he paused, just staring at her. He couldn’t remember anything, and this was all so confusing.

“What’s your name?” He asked again.

She blinked, trying to think. She obviously didn’t know her name as well. “Eh? Um…you’re right, I don’t know!” She was a little antsy, but her childlike innocence eased the awkward and tense situation.

“You’re strange.” He bluntly said, giving her a deadpan look.

“Really?” She tilted her head, still smiling at him.

The smile, even without memories, was still comforting to him, but that didn’t last long. A large, dog like monster swung its paw and the girl flung across the room. He watched in horror, his body frozen. He couldn’t speak, yet alone think properly.

He looked at the girl’s mangled body, still not being able to comprehend this all. He didn’t have time to think, though. The monster swung its paw at him, leaving large claw marks over his chest. He could feel blood pouring out of his mouth, and it was going everywhere. His organs and bones were heavily damaged from the impact, but somehow he was still alive.

“W..what?” Was all he could say before he started to cough up more blood.

What was this place? Why was he here?
