Well here it was at last, the most important day of Bubbles' life.
The decorations for the ball started immediately with the bridge from the Marketplace to Park Island festooned with pink, silver and hastily added light blue ribbons, a nod to the changed environment of the Tree. Where trees and green grass has once stood, there were now formations of coral and seaweed like vegetation and instead of birds, giant flying fish soared overhead.
Ever the perfectionist, Bubbles had embraced this strange new sea environment and had decorated a large area of the park with hanging glass spheres and tasteful garden lanterns (although there was a sheer number of pink decorations, there was a vague sea theme that was surprisingly elegant coming from the ditz). Lighting was supplied from the lanterns and small tea candles placed on top of forcefully borrowed tables, each covered with a light blue, pink, green or silver tablecloth. These were arranged to the left and right of the park space. Because it was a park, adventurous guests could wander away from this area to find secluded park benches to ah....enjoy the evening on, so long as the mistress of ceremonies didn't catch them. In the center was an actual dance floor made of finished wood--where it had come from or who had put it together was anyone's guess, but the blond tyrant was rather pleased with it. Just behind that there was a raised dais that served as a 'stage' for the entertainment for the night. Folks who wandered in early were treated to the soft tones of a young man playing a violin--a very elegant way to start off the night. One had to wonder if it was going to stay like this.
Donated refreshments such as crab cakes, small sandwiches, cheese and punch were on a long table to the left of the stage. To the right was a small table setup for drinks donated and served by Smoke. Several volunteer, ah...well lets call them Chaperones, were on hand to kick out escort out rowdy guests if it came to that, but of course it wouldn't. Who would dare spoil such a marvelous, elegant event by being drunk?!
This was clearly going to be the most perfect, romantic, swankified and bestest ball ever!
[ooc: BALL LOG! Here's how it works, folks. I'll post a series of comments describing certain areas of the ball and people who reply to that thread will be RPing action happening in that area. Feel free to specify what time it is if you feel that's necessary/ want your pup to hit up the food table and the dance floor without looking like you're in two places at once.
If your character promised to setup/clean up in exchange for entrance to the ball...I've sorta handwaved that action but feel free to talk about it/bitch about how much of a little Hitler Bubbles can be. "Chaperones" are NPCs, other newborns and Ghost, who's donating his time as a 'bouncer' for this event, and they're here if you want someone to kick your character out of the ball or you want to start a brawl. That doesn't mean that Guards can't act within their capacity or anything like that, I just figured this is a way for people to be 'off duty' should they so choose. Most of the Guards are workaholics anyways.
There is a NPC collecting tickets at the..."door" but WTF its a PARK so its not like its not possible to sneak in. (Protip: Try the other rope bridge from the Aquarium).
