Again. Just like before.
Officially, Ghost was still looking, but inside he knew the truth--that he wasn't going to find Clé. Oh. Alekhine. Miss C. Tempest's entry only confirmed what he'd suspected when he found her house vacant earlier that week.
Gone.
Just like Kanin.
Right now, he just moved on auto pilot. Nothing felt...real to him. He wasn't sure if he felt anything. He was...hungry? When was the last time he'd eaten? Nothing after Tempest's entry at least.
Right. Marketplace then.
Ghost stepped onto the elevator, so lost in his thoughts that it took him a minute to realize who else was in the elevator with him. He'd also never seen Fugue dressed in jeans. He took a double take as the doors closed, trapping the two men together.
"F-fugue?" His voice was scratchy, tired. "Dude--where have you been?"

He smiled at the two other young men as they got in the elevator, but didn't speak, and his expression turned wary at the way Ghost's voice sounded. He cleared his throat slightly and turned away, not wanting to seem as though he were eavesdropping.

"I've been around," he answered vaguely as his thoughts were interrupted. "Things have more or less been as hectic as usual, don't you think?" He rubbed the back of his head, furrowing eyebrows in slight annoyance. "The voices were irritating, but it seemed to be one of those things that was beyond our control. But it wasn't something that required evacuation, and I suppose that's good enough."
With a slight shrug, he asked, "And where are you two going?" He figured that he might as well include the other man--after all, what if he actually knew him before kicking the bucket months ago? What if he just didn't remember? Might as well play his part...

He sighed and rubbed at one eye. What was with his luck lately? He'd just been talking to West about Fugue earlier and now here he was randomly. He wasn't sure who the other guy in the elevator was either--a newborn most likely.
Fugue was being nice enough--normal even--but for some reason that was irritating to Ghost. Maybe it was because he'd just accepted the fact that he'd lost Clé again to this hellhole and this man, however vaguely, was involved with it. It made him feel..something. A spark of anger, cutting though the shock of loss. Still, he tried to temper it, since as he'd said to West there was just no evidence...
Man, Lucy was right. He was paranoid.
"I'm...just wandering," he lied easily. "You?"

"I was going to pick up something to eat before heading to my shift on Medical Island," he replied. He got a good look at the others as he spoke, noticing that both of them looked distracted, and one of them looked tired as well. He was itching to ask what was wrong, but held himself in.
