Sorry so slow. DX Schedule kinda hectic. fugue_angel September 21 2009, 03:04:26 UTC
"This is a place called 'Edensphere'--you've both just woken up from having some kind of dream and hatched from cocoons." With that, he dropped one bundle of provisions before the girl and cautiously approached the... cat-thing before holding out his bundle as well.

Perhaps what had stopped him from leering at the young-looking blonde was the distinct lack of breasts. Oh for shame... Alas, Fugue did what he could to hide his disappointment.

"I am Fugue, a guide assigned to this Hall to greet you," he continued. "Since you probably don't recall anything about yourself -who you are, where you're from, et cetera- you'll have to choose your own names. How about doing that now, before you pry through the useful bundles of goods I'm providing you..."

That's okay, I've been kinda sick and slow lately too. all_ur_forks September 22 2009, 16:26:03 UTC
"More like a nightmare." The cat-like creature rumbled out quietly, more to himself than the other two. Of course the first bits of information he could have deduced for himself, and already had. Now the question was, how did he end up in a cocoon in the first place? He accepted the bundle from Fugue with a big toothy grin, immediately pulling the shirt on over his head.

Now that the strange cloaked man mentioned it, he didn't remember anything about himself. Except that he was Khajiit, when the others clearly were not Khajiit, and that he very much did not enjoy goop in his fur. "This One should have a Khajiit name, only proper," he pondered that for a few moments, rolling over in his head what he thought might be a proper name. "Shoanji. Yes that will do." He said with a satisfied nod.

It's fine. These things happen. alovefreak September 22 2009, 17:09:02 UTC
"Ah, yes. I remember that dream. It was full of so much love!" She said, smiling. But, as she thought about it more, the fact that she couldn't remember ANYTHING else started to sink in.

"Wha, wha, what do you mean, we can't remember anything? How did you know that?" She kept thinking over her dream, trying to force a memory to come out other than it, but it wasn't working.

Even though he didn't know what the cat-thing was only moments ago, Fugue suddenly decided that he knew what did or didn't constitute as a proper name. "Very well then, Shoanji. Excellent choice."

He turned to the confused blonde, replying, "That's one similarity among those who are born here in Edensphere--most have no recollection of the past. I, too, was born in such a manner; we all only have a dream to guide us. Because of this, many choose their own names from their dreams."

He began to reveal the contents of the bundles -clothing, journal, map, pouch of coins- while continuing, "And, just as you're born into this strange world, you'll have to live in it. These things are the basic essentials for life in a giant tree set amidst a glass-like sphere."

It was like he was weaving a tale, except for the part where none of this was made up...

As much as Shoanji wanted to argue that not being able to remember anything was utterly ridiculous, and the cloaked man must be lying, the more he thought on it the more he knew it was the truth. Mostly because he couldn't recall anything more than his dream, and his new name. Oh there were small things, he could identify clothing of course, what he was, what the other two were... but those were not memories so much as knowledge.

"Giant tree?" Shoanji asked, suddenly very curious. He poured over his map much like a child studying a fascinating picture. An entire world in a tree! Amazing! And so much to explore, perhaps he could climb to the tallest branches?

The true tales were always the most interesting ones. "How big is the tree, can one go beyond the glass? The stars! What constellations exist here? Do you know where This One might have come from?" He asked, suddenly very excited with all this news. So he'd lost a few memories, he'd get them back, right?
