Summary: Mao is born in Edensphere, and Fugue... uh. Fugue was off-duty, and somehow, Cancer? managed to to sneak into a place he should never be found in.
The rains had stopped; the sun was shining! The ol' fishbowl was so peaceful and bright, and Cancer? himself was in a mood brighter than a telephone pole on a Wednesday evening. Third Street was on the move again, and this time, spotted a new place to rest its overblown hackles.
...In other words, it wasn't often Cancer? went into Square Zero. He didn't much like the place--it was Fugue's territory, and Fugue's territory meant very bad things--but he figured he might partake of the steak fest himself. He'd come up at least once a day to snag a few off the tree branches and was sorely disappointed to find none today. Oh well. Things like that happened, didn't they.
But he did find something that caught his interest. It seemed today was one of those rare days Fugue had taken a break from watching over the unborn fishies, and whatever apprentice he'd had on duty in his stead had wandered off, apparently bored by the lack of movement.
But one of them was moving. Cancer?'s dull eyes sparkled like cider, and his mouth cracked into a wide smirk. Today was his day, it seemed. He snatched up the newbie provisions Fugue always had handy--hey, it wouldn't be nice to not give the new kid the stuff he needed to survive, right?--and headed over to the moving cocoon, taking a seat where he had a good view.
