When he saw it, his smile faded just a bit. It was shocking to see the place so destroyed, but he reminded himself that it would be fixed. He knew he was a lot stronger than he looked, and faster. He'd asked if he could help, and he wasn't backing down. Whatever Smoke needed done, he'd do.
Which reminded him, he'd need to meet the elusive man. They'd never managed to actually speak face to face. The redhead restored his smile and took his hands out of his pockets.

He stopped at the entrance for a while, hands in his pockets, observing the damage done. A low whistle escaped his lips. Smoke really did need help; the bar was in pretty bad shape.
Nothing that can't be fixed, though. With that in mind, he entered the bar and looked around, wondering where he should start.

"So you're Smoke, huh?" An easy grin formed on his face. "Name's Martillo. We talked over that weird journal thing."
He took a look around again; the place had been starting to fill with people, and there was a lady with a rather revealing outfit on stage singing something he didn't quite remember-except he really couldn't remember anything, so it was kind of useless to point that out. Maybe he could say instead that it was a somewhat... strange sound, completely unfamiliar even in the slightest sense of the word. Just like Smoke's clothes, or the way they were living in a tree, or a thousand other things about this place.
But he shrugged his thoughts away; his help was needed, after all, and that's what he should focus on. "So where do ya think I should start?"

He scratched his head before finally asking. "You're not, like... related to a guy named Praise or Raise are you?"

Sniper was long gone. Range was... missing at best, gone at worst. No one had mentioned a new likeness showing up, but he was fairly certain that Aurora or Bastet might have mentioned this to him the last time they'd spoken. So he had to assume 1) he was seeing things, 2) he was the first one to find out, or 3) this was another one of those weird twin circumstances like with Fullmetal and Sky.
So he eventually decided to come over and introduce himself. "Uh... hi there! I'm Smoke, and I don't think we've met yet... but I gotta say, I've seen you working really hard and I definitely appreciate it."

"So you're the proprietor of this establishment, huh? Nice to meet you. I'm Gene and I'm... sure I'll be lending you my patronage soon enough." Wiping the charcoal dust off on the newborn shirt he'd kept around (it was definitely one article of clothing he didn't care about getting grubby on the job), Gene offered a hand to shake. He studied Smoke's face, almost positive he saw that 'thought I saw a ghost' reaction he'd been getting ever since the animals had disappeared into the aether and Range apparently went with them. ...Or that could be his paranoia acting up. Either way, he wasn't going to say anything if Smoke wasn't.

He didn't mind the grubbyness at all, since he'd been maintenance his first few months here, so he shook the offered hand heartily. It was also bringing back memories since Sniper had been one of the people who'd helped him build the original structure, the other being Cross, and- Wasn't there someone else?

...Several naps later, however, things still made no sense, and so Lea gave up the idea and decided maybe it was time to go investigate things. Maybe he would look for that bazaar. He hadn't found a jacket or anything in the little temporary apartment he'd been afforded, and so he just shoved his hands into the pockets of the pants he'd been given (which weren't quite long enough, but were probably wide enough for two of him) and headed out into the brisk weather ( ... )

He wasn't surprised to see someone he didn't recognize immediately enter the bar, but he hadn't met a new redhead since Eyepatch. That was enough reason for Smoke to wander over and greet the man. "Yo, stranger~ My name's Smoke - you must be new. If you're here to help out, I really appreciate, and be sure to check with Cheers over there -" He pointed to the lovely lady. "- And she'll make sure you get something to drink as part of my thanks."

Glancing up when movement toward him caught his eye, Lea lifted a hand to absently scratch at his jawline, then his lips parted in an 'o' of understanding when the stranger introduced himself. Huh...there really were a lot of redheads, it seemed ( ... )

Smoke's eyes went wide in understanding. "Well hey, Lea-kun! Alright then, nice to meet you for real now. Always hard to tell - that doesn't change at all, unfortunately." He had to laugh a little, tho. "Uh, dude? You're in the bazaar now. This whole island is the bazaar - used to be the marketplace, but when those fires hit that you heard about? I guess it messed up the whole damn 'Sphere in the process. By the time I got back, the map was different. So instead of my bar being a short bridge away from the Access Point, now it's a whole island away PLUS it's on the far side ( ... )
