It had been one of those midnight trips to the bathroom somewhere in the Mall of America when everything changed ( ... )

His eyes focused. Though he didn't fully understand what he was doing--magical energy surged through his pupils and strengthened every aspect of those light receptors in his skull. Trigger stared towards the one wandering in his direction, reaching to draw his bow. His right hand opened and from his palm, he let his circuits trace another arrow, which he drew into the string quietly ( ... )

Fugue had been startled when the arrow seemed headed his direction and cowered for cover until it hit the boulder. He removed the note from the arrow--the hills, huh? So he turned toward the hills and began heading that way, checking at intervals to make sure the archer was still there.

Are we going to meet there? he wondered quietly, panting as he moved. He looked back again and nearly panicked when he saw the monsters approaching. Though he was tired, he forced himself to move faster thinking about how he didn't want to die and that he'd greatly reward this stranger should he make it out alive.

Granted, he wasn't entirely sure what kind of reward to give--if it was money, Fugue had plenty of it. But if there was anything else... oh, he'd think of something later.

Trigger stepped up and frowned, showing the end of his bow from his vantage point right when Fugue looked up--just so the traveler could see it. Though, he'd expended a lot of energy so far. More and more rows of blades ran up his left arm, simply from his idiotic trial and error. Each time he used a certain recipe in his mind, there was a certain percentage of failure. Strengthening the failure could fix the recipe, but it wouldn't make the swords disappear from him. While most people would question the swords and try to be rid of them, he became aware that they didn't harm him nearly as much as he thought. After awhile, they would slide within and disappear until he failed at his recipes once again ( ... )

Lin had found out she didn't particularly like the so-called 'mall'. Despite this, it was better to do something than to be sitting home alone all the time- when she didn't have to work, of course. She had been wondering about many things... The last memory crystal she found, the things it showed her... Bastet. It was utterly disheartening not to be able to put the pieces together. Despite her pride, she had realized that she couldn't do more than what she already did on her own-- she needed other people, needed to talk to them ( ... )

It took a few moments to pinpoint the location of the one following him. As quiet as she was, she stood out fairly well, once he strengthened his eyes. Touching his brow with a bit of a frown, Trigger kept walking, as if he hadn't seen her. Though, the second time he checked if she had still been behind him, he saw something unpleasant. A much bigger group than before--bringing a variety of friends with them. Archers in the front. Not close to Lin, obviously, but much more adjacent to the both of them and much less comfortable in the area. They were scouting, but their group was rather big. Were all the guards attacking them making them wary?

"Tcch. Naturally. You better duck, you fool--" Trigger opened his right hand, his left bringing up his bow. In his right hand formed a black, twisted sword from a number of yellow and red wires. The wires flashed and formed the blade itself, which he drew into the string of his bow.

"I am the bone of my sword," He spoke up, magical energy surging into his left arm. The verse itself hurt to ( ... )

Lin didn't notice when he saw her, only because she was too busy staring at her surroundings. What kind of place was that? It didn't feel familiar at all. Despite not having her memories, she still felt some things were familiar, while some weren't. And in that place, she felt lost.

Then, all of a sudden, he was turning to her and-- was he aiming at her? Before she knew it he had fired a red missile, but... She wasn't close to its path anymore. All of a sudden, she found herself several feet from there.

What had he just done? What had she just done?!

"What are you doing?! Did you want to kill me?!"

His eyes narrowed in some surprise. He could follow that movement, but it was exceptionally difficult, even with his eagle's eyes. That was a surprise, at least. The lithe thing was fast enough to send up the dirt at her feet, too, though it must have been difficult. That movement shouldn't have been very easy. The weirdo would have to get his praise, sometime, but not when she had a hunting party approaching her from the side.

"Don't yell! Before they reorganize themselves--get down!" Trigger yelled at her through clenched teeth, sliding his hand up once more. two arrows manifested into his palm, sliding out of his body through those thin wires in a flash.
