Bernard was forlorn. It had been YEARS - alright, not really, but it sure felt like it - since she had last seen a soul worth loving. The puffer fish in the tank across from hers was rather cute, but it turned out he was all air, no substance. What was a poor girl to do when your heart was broken?

But it seemed to be her lucky day! Just as she was going to go mosey on to the dolphin tank, Bernard noticed something.

...HER NEWEST BELOVED!

Waving her tentacles frantically, Bernard tried to get his attention. Chirping behind the glass, she realized her beautiful voice could not be given its full volume. She would have to get out of the tank, and soon!

Fugue was still looking over the domes when he realized that something was moving rather frantically, violently. Turning his gaze downward into the closest dome, he caught note of the tentacle creature.

He blinked at it for a moment, completely dumbfounded. This... Bernard-guy... wouldn't happen to be the creature waving and flailing about in the water, could he?

Fugue tapped on the glass a little, saying, "Err, hi." The black-haired man couldn't figure out what possessed him to talk to the creature--or made him ask his next question, for that matter. But his deep voice passed through the glass and water, albeit a little distorted. "You wouldn't happen to know this... Bernard-guy, would you?"

And then he just felt ridiculous, sighing but still watching the sea creature for whatever kind of response...

Oh, he remembered her! But how could he not? She was definitely a thing of beauty and grace that would be hard to wipe from your memory. This just further proved that they were, indeed, meant to be! Feeling her passion lighted anew, Bernard squished herself up against the glass, little suckers attaching to the surface.

Slowly, she bent her long limbs against the glass, spelling out her name as best as she could.

Fugue was speechless to say the least. How the heck did one go about when it was a sea creature who had won an auctioned date with you? Not to mention that Bernard had spelled her own name wrong... This hardly made any sense!

...wait, and this creature had enough money to participate in an auction? Fancy that.

Blinking in confusion, he asked, "...I suppose there's no one else here by the name Bernard?" Then again, that could be exactly why the date was set to be at the State Aquarium.

Well, to be fair, Fugue would... err, still pull through with it. Somehow. Although he wasn't exactly sure how a date with a tentacle creature was supposed to go in the first place. "I'm afraid I don't know how to date someone who is behind the glass as you are."

Although even if he DID get behind the glass to date him, who knew what the creature would do at that point...?
