Summary: Smoke is currently being afflicted by the Mistletoe Event (which, surprisingly, has never happened to him before!) and happens upon Kurayami during her smoke break. UST only gets worse.

Smoke didn't normally take Suzy out shopping, and with good reason. For one, the rappig almost always wanted to stand up against the food stands to inspect the food. Granted, that gave Smoke a good indication of what Suzy liked to eat, but it also meant he always ended up paying for one more apple, one more carrot, one more anything than what he'd originally been planning, because Suzy'd start scarfing one down.
The other reason he didn't take Suzy out to the Marketplace Bazaar often was because it was a pretty darn good reminder of the events in the party-wilderness and the whole wasabi fiasco. It didn't bother Smoke -- it bothered Suzy; it made him restless, constantly tugging on his leash to get away, and squealing angrily at Smoke through most of it. More than being embarrassing, it was just annoying and made shopping way more complicated than it reasonably should have been.
But he'd worked late that day, and Suzy hated being cooped up in the apartment for such long periods of time. Between shopping with the rappig and letting him take a dump all over the apartment floor, Smoke was willing to take Z-kun shopping. Unfortunately, they didn't get very far. Smoke was dazily thinking about a half dozen things - not least of which being the strange little leaves floating above his head - when Suzy bolted.
"OI! DAMN PIG, GET BACK HERE!"
He was running down the street alternating between "Z-kun!" and "Damn Pig!" when the small creature picked up a familiar scent and ran headlong for it, as if expecting that she would protect him from the horrible wasabi monster.
