FUGUE'S REBIRTH [OPEN]

Fugue's final rebirth into the sphere was done not with a bang, but with an underwhelming pop. One minute the shoppers of the bazaar were going about their business and the next there was a naked man curled up into a fetal position in the middle of the road. He was shivering, his arms pulled tightly around his legs and his eyes were tightly shut.

As pathetic as it was to see the mysterious man of Edensphere brought so low, what happened next was downright frightening. The dirt ground beneath Fugue began to slowly change color, from a vibrant brown to a sickly gray. The discoloration only spread a few feet from Fugue in all directions before halting. But it was unnerving.

The crowd around Fugue grew silent.

Near where Fugue stood, there was a rainbow shimmer in the air before his sister appeared before him- she was in a loose-fitting dress with rainbow stripes all around it. She was very unsteady on her feet now- her time was near an end, she felt dizzy and sick, and she just wanted to get this over with.

"Hello, Remmy."

Fugue caught the rainbow shimmer in the corner of his eye sight and whirled around. He was equally unsteady on his feet as he met the eyes of the pale woman before him. He knew her.

"Y-you!" The ground trembled, ever so slightly beneath their feet. He...knew her? Yes of course. The woman in his dream--

--Red Red Red spreading across a dirty carpeted floor--

"N-no! It's not time yet!" The words slipped from his mouth before he really even knew what he was saying. "You're not here!" He closed his eyes and tried to back away.

A snarl crossed Renee's face- even now, he was still trying to back out.

"I AM here. And not for too much longer. Open your eyes, Remmy. The world is falling apart. Time to face the music. Time for the song to end. Your 23 seconds of fame are almost up."

Her expression then softened, and she let out a long sigh.

"Be brave for once in your life."
