As of this morning, the white lines on the screen are only intermittent: when I open the laptop, the lines appear for about thirty seconds and then vanish, leaving the correct pixels in place. I'm not sure what's causing it, but my screen had a similar instance after I dropped it. Mine wasn't lines, though; I had a fuzzy splotch that wasn't in the middle but wasn't far enough towards the edge to not be annoying. It resolved itself in a few days, though.
