Merlin will be hanging by the lake, quietly meditating - and when Edgat walks by, he will greet him with a polite nod.

Edgar will nod politely in return, and pass; Merlin does not look familiar, and certainly not like Hagbard.

No, not quite - and as Edgar passes, Merlin will watch him go with curious eyes.

Edgar turns back, pauses. "In quest, sir?"

Hagbard just happens to be sitting outside by the lake; he is still contemplating how he could get his submarine here, and it's beginning to look hopeless. But seeing a man who was there last time he made an effort perks up his spirits, and he say, on a whim, "Ho, out to catch some lead carp?"

Edgar can't help laughing a little at that enthusiasm. "There you are--Hagbard, was it? I had been looking for you."
