Crackplotted: 21st-century!Edgar

Edgar will be reading a book under a tree--David Harvey's Spaces of Hope, which is a good deal less hopeful than he had hoped--when the crackplot comes across him; he shivers a little at the sudden, autumnal breeze, and looks up. Alyosha is walking to look at the grounds -- the sky the bright, peculiar blue it is in autumn when the trees stand stark against it, leaves golden-brown and dim -- the sun warming even as the wind chills. Though it's strange to be here, it's strangely beautiful, all familiar, and he's smiling to himself, hands in his pockets and heart light.

Edgar catches sight of him--under-dressed for the chill, in his short sleeves and paint-splattered jeans; his first thought is that this stranger must be so very cold--and waves to him, from a distance. "Excuse me," he calls, "but I appear to have lost my way."

Bless Edgar -- always thinking of other people. "So have I, so have I," Alyosha says laughing, fond -- at once fond, and crossing the field to meet him. "Perhaps we can find our ways together?"

"It sounds like we don't have much choice," he says, and has to laugh a little simply because Alyosha's laughing. "My name is Edgar--no chance we're near Pittsburgh ...?"
