On Sunday afternoons, Winona would sit on the back patio of her home with her school planner and a large pitcher of iced tea, making up the coming week's activities for her students. Class projects on on Tuesday, tests on Thursday, and reports due on Friday with open discussions following after the last student had finished. It was a rather open and flexible schedule but one she found worked well for her students.

On Mondays, like this morning was, she always left home extra early so she could walk to the school, having a few moments to herself to relax and breath in the fresh morning air. By the time she got to school there was always at least one or two other teachers already there. Today, though, it seemed that Christopher managed to be there as well.

"Good Morning, Principle Pike," She called out as she entered the office to gather her morning mail.

Pike grinned, "Mrs. Kirk."

He always grinned when he saw her. To be honest, he wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the school knew exactly what he thought of Winona Kirk. His dreams sure did. The most recent one had them on a date in some restaurant in the city. He blamed the meatballs he ate that night. Spicy food before bed is a bad idea. Though, looking back on it, maybe he'd actually decide to ask her to dinner one day.

"How are you this morning?"

She always had a bright one for Christopher Pike, the man was just so charming and sweet. It didn't hurt to believe that he actually might like her, or so said the gossip going around the Teacher's lounge when the other ladies were on break. That kind of talk made a woman blush but Winona enjoyed the little indulgence. No real harm in it after all.

"I'm quite well, thank you. And yourself?"

"Doing pretty well, though not looking forward to those conferences I need to have with some of our more, is there even a nice way to put this, problem kids and their more often than not equally problematic parents."

Though her son was not part of today's batch.
