Description: Pavel comes home from the dance to find chaos at his house.
When Pavel found out what was going on, it had been difficult to break away from the dance and get home. He knew, he didn't need anyone to tell him, that he was one of the people who had been targeted by the people wandering around outside. He winced when he skidded on a patch of ice outside, barely regaining his composure before running the rest of the way back to his house. He ran up the drive, breathing heavily with the rush of adrenaline in his system, the cold air freezing in his lungs. It never happened like this. He ran all the time, fast runs, sprinting and marathons, and never felt this panicked, this unable to to do something that was so normal for him.
"Papa!" he shouted, forgetting that people had made fun of him for the name in middle school, that he wasn't in Russia--that this wasn't as terrifying as the raids in Leningrad, except it felt like it.
